“Appear, Disappear Reappear” 2023

A creative collaboration with visually-impaired author Roger Cowell and students of BA Visual Communication at Leeds Arts University. Roger Cowell lost his central vision in 2019. Shortly after this he began writing about his experiences of ‘variable vision’ and the vivid hallucinations he frequently experienced on his daily walks. In early 2022 he invited students of BA Visual Communication at Leeds Arts University to respond to excerpts of his writing. Appear, Disappear, Reappear was an exhibition in the university café documenting the process and results of the 18 month collaboration.

 The exhibition was made as accessible as possible which included a version in video form with audio description and subtitles (see below the image gallery to watch/listen).
